With the Advanced Engineering business within the Williams group growing so fast, there was the need to uplift the website to showcase more of the work they do and highlight some business case studies to drive new revenue.

Full UX/UI Design process, from understanding requirements and analising competitors, researching the latest UX trends and software, drawing sketches and wireframes, designing images, creating prototypes and defining guidelines, implementing usability and performing usability testing, to pixel perfect design.

This project has been undertaken during my professional employment at Williams F1.

Williams F1 2018 autograph cards and imagery

posted on May 22nd 2018 in with 0 Comments

This project included photography direction / production of the FW41 launch photoshoot and the drivers line-up (Sergey Sirotkin, Lance Stroll and Robert Kubica) photoshoot for 2018. The imagery was then used in the design of the official autograph cards for the season.

The idea was to do something different to everything that had been done before, showing an more personal aspect of the drivers, and focusing on producing something eye-appealing. The colour palette is the Williams Martini Racing colours.

Thanks Malky for the great shots we got 😉

This project has been undertaken during my professional employment in 2015/2018 at Williams F1.

Backroads of Central America – an illustrated map

posted on February 5th 2017 in with 0 Comments

One of my travel apps has reminded me today that the countdown to my next intercontinental trip is now down to 65 days left.

That´s why, and continuing with the tradition I started a couple of years ago, I´ve decided to create this illustrated map, showing the route I´ll be mostly following during my trip in Central America.

I will start in Costa Rica, and then travel all the way to Guatemala, passing through Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

Asia through my lens

The hardest thing for me in Vietnam wasn´t seeing the wounded and dead. It was watching the big transport jets come in, bringing loads of fresh new boys for the war.

Africa through my lens

posted on November 20th 2016 in with 0 Comments

Africa, my Africa
Africa of proud warriors in ancestral savannahs
Africa of whom my grandmother sings
On the banks of the distant river
I have never known you
But your blood flows in my veins
Your beautiful black blood that irrigates the fields
The blood of your sweat
The sweat of your work
The work of your slavery
Africa, tell me Africa
Is this your back that is unbent
This back that never breaks under the weight of humilation
This back trembling with red scars
And saying no to the whip under the midday sun
But a grave voice answers me
Impetuous child that tree, young and strong
That tree over there
Splendidly alone amidst white and faded flowers
That is your Africa springing up anew
springing up patiently, obstinately
Whose fruit bit by bit acquires
The bitter taste of liberty.

– David Diop
