India Nepal illustrated map

It’s that time of the year again, in which I can’t help it but plan another intercontinental trip. After a few adventures in Africa and Central America I’ve decided to go East this time to a couple of countries I’ve always wished to visit: India and Nepal.

I will be doing this trip in spring, just after the famous Holi Festival in India (that one where everybody throws colour powder to each other), and the perfect time in terms of weather, as it´s not meant to be rainy season yet and it should not be too hot in India nor too cold in Nepal.

It’s going to be a fifteen days trip, in which to experience the contrast between the colourful North India and the peaceful serenity of the Himalayan mountains in Nepal. Being able to see with my own eyes ghats (pujas or cremation ceremonies in the Ganga River) in Varanasi and enjoy the nature at Chitwan National Park in Nepal. To travel (and try to get some sleep) on board of the known Indian trains, all while trying to keep my tummy “healthy” with curries and Indian spices.

The planned itinerary is as below (although it may change on the field):

London – Delhi – Jaipur – Agra – Orchha – Varanasi – Gorakhpur – Lumbini – National Park of Chitwan – Pokhara – Kathmandu – London

Watch this space for updates on the trip 🙂
