Laurent Chehere makes houses fly!

French photographer Laurent Chehere is not an ordinary photographer, nor he is content with photographing houses in their natural surroundings. Laurent Chehere photographs houses and makes them fly! It sounds like a scene out of Pixar’s film Up just take away the balloons and swap animation for some seriously believable photo manipulation and ooooh isn’t the result impressive!?

Urban survivors

Urban Survivors is a multimedia project by Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in collaboration with the NOOR photo agency and Darjeeling Productions, highlighting the critical humanitarian and medical needs that exist in slums the world over.

Urban Survivors takes the visitor on a virtual journey through seven slums -in Guatemala City, Tegucigalpa, Dhaka, Johannesburg, Karachi, Nairobi and Port-au-Prince– where MSF is running projects. The website lets the visitor discover more about the daily lives of people in these slums, the challenges they face, and what MSF is doing to address their humanitarian needs.

Pictograms, music, films & graphic design = Viktor Hertz

In some parts of the world the concept graphic design is seen as a lot of elements interacting in an orderly and harmonious space, accompanied by a powerful and colorful text,’cause in many cases that’s what customers want. And for some customers it’s difficult to  understand that a clean, timely, direct and synthetic design can be better. This doesn’t mean that would be cheaper, it might be even more expensive ’cause achieving intelligent and convincing synthesis is not easy. This will end in a graphic design not charged for the amount of color used or the number of letters that are part of the notice, but for the conceptualization and ingenuity in the design of a graphic piece.

The cover of today’s New York Post: a man about to be killed

A man standing on the subway tracks in midtown Manhattan, having just been pushed there by someone. A train is coming, and he’s about to be killed. For some, it’s almost painful to look at, and it’s raising a ton of questions about if a photo like this should even exist, let alone grace the cover of one of the United States’ biggest papers.

A freelance photographer working for the New York Post on an unrelated assignment happened to be standing on the 49th Street station platform when 58-year-old Queens resident Ki Suk Han was suddenly pushed onto the tracks by an as-yet-unidentified assailant.
